Both Leeds United and Sheffield Wednesday, have had contrasting starts to the season, with Wednesday targeting the play-off positions whilst Leeds are struggling in the bottom half of the division.

Both teams have a substantial amount of quality within their squad, and they are both teams who are able to compete to a significantly high standard in the Sky Bet Championship.

So far this season,  the Owls have made a fantastically strong start, as they are currently ninth in the Championship after winning six out of their 16 games.

Whilst Leeds are 15th, after only winning four from their 15 games, but since they have appointed Steve Evans as their manager, they have looked a significantly stronger side, and his team are on the right track to amount to great things.

In the opinion of FLW reporter Bradley Fredericks, here is the the best combined XI between these two teams, as they both have fantastic players who are quality within the Championship.....

Westwood has played for the Owls since July 2014, and he has now signed a recent contract extension to keep him at the Owls until 2018.

He has played 10 times for Wednesday in the league, making 21 saves, which is a superb record for a Championship goalkeeper.

The former Sunderland shot-stopper is undoubtedly one of the best goalkeepers in the second tier of English football, and he looks set for a bright future in the game.

RB - Jack Hunt

Jack Hunt is currently on loan at Carlos Carvalhal's Sheffield Wednesday, and he has performed very well for the Owls this season.

The 24-year-old has a plethora of Football League experience, and it would be no surprise to see the defender challenging for a first-team spot in the Crystal Palace team.

CB - Tom Lees

Lees, who was offloaded by Leeds United to join Sheffield Wednesday, has excelled since joining the Owls - and is now the first name on the team-sheet.

The 24-year-old only looks set to get better every week, and he is undoubtedly one of the most improved centre-backs in the Championship this season.

CB - Sol Bamba

The former Leicester City man has been a rock at the heart of the Leeds United defence since he joined.

Bamba has not lived up to the sort of performances he showcased last season, but there is no denying that on his day, the Ivorian is one of the best defenders in the league.

LB - Charlie Taylor

At the age of just 22, Charlie Taylor has become one of Leeds United's best players.

The left-back joins the likes of Alex Mowatt, Lewis Cook and Kalvin Phillips on the Leeds United conveyor belt, and it would be no surprise to see Taylor plying his trade in the Premier League very soon.

RM - Marco Matias

Matias is an excellent winger who can operate in a number of positions.

The Portuguese star is currently injured but he showcased his talent earlier in the season, when he scored a sensational goal against Leeds United at Elland Road.

A player who is full of tricks, pace, and flamboyancy - Matias is set for a very bright future.

LM - Stuart Dallas

Dallas who joined Leeds United from Brentford in the summer of 2015 has gone on to play 14 times for his new club.

He is a highly-rated winger who has a serious amount of potential surrounding him.

Even though he hasn't scored yet, he has created 15 chances, which has certainly had a massive effect on his team going forward.

CM: Barry Bannan

Barry Bannan has been at the Owls since the summer transfer window after he joined from Crystal Palace.

He has played in almost all of Wednesday's games since his arrival and he has gone on to create 16 chances, which show how there is attacking intent from both Sheffield Wednesday and Leeds United.

Bannan should really still be plying his trade in the Premier League.

CM: Alex Mowatt

Mowatt is one of the finest talents to emerge from the Leeds United academy setup, and he looks destined for the Premier League very soon.

The midfielder is always involved in the Leeds United attacks, and at the age of just 20, he has plenty of time to develop his skill under Leeds United.

ST: Fernando Foresteri

The Owls signed Foresteri from Watford on an undisclosed fee in the summer transfer window, and since then he has been a fantastic player for the Owls.

This season he has played an influential part for Carlos Carvalhal's team, and he is pivotal in the Owls' chances of achieving promotion to the Premier League.

ST: Chris Wood

The Leeds striker signed for his new team in July 2015, and he has scored five goals for Leeds United this year.

He is a player who has massive amount of potential and he can go onto great things, and maybe he can even play consistently for a Premier League club one day.

As he is only 23, he is only set to improve and develop as a professional footballer.
