It's a debate that seems as though it's going to ramble on amongst the Elland Road faithful for the majority of this year's league campaign.

Patrick Bamford continues to struggle for confidence in front of goal, but Marcelo Bielsa continues to keep Arsenal loanee Eddie Nketiah out of the starting XI for the time being.

It has led to reports emerging that Arsenal could be tempted to recall the youngster from his loan spell with the promotion-chasing Whites in January.

But football.london have recently revealed that any talks between Arsenal and Leeds aren't due to take place until after next month's international break.

So, how do Bamford and Nketiah compare in terms of statistics so far this season?

Find out below....

Nketiah's statistics have to be taken with 'a pinch of salt' given that the Gunners loanee is yet to start in a league game for Marcelo Bielsa's side.

The 20-year-old has scored four goals in total, which makes for impressive reading, especially given the majority of his appearances have come in the cup competitions.

Bamford has also netted on four occasions, but given that the former Middlesbrough forward has been a regular starter for Leeds, he simply needs to be finding the back of the net on a more consistent basis, otherwise the Whites could falter in their promotion bid once again this term.

Nketiah edges it in terms of shot accuracy, with the forward having a 9.6% better ratio than Bamford, although Nketiah has attempted considerably less shots in total given that he hasn't featured in Bielsa's squad as much so far this season.

But one statistic that might raise eyebrows among some of the Elland Road faithful is the successful dribbles that both men have made to date.

Bamford edges it with seven, compared to Nketiah's five but as mentioned before, with the Arsenal loanee having less minutes under his belt, it shows that Nketiah is more of a direct striker than Bamford, and it wouldn't come as a surprise to hear that the 20-year-old is more confident on the ball than Bamford.

Nketiah is beaten again in the statistics when it comes to pass accuracy, although it's considerably closer than some of the other stats that we've taken a look at.

It's certainly going to be an interesting month ahead, and Marcelo Bielsa has some bold selection calls to make when the squad return from international duty.

But you have to feel that if the Leeds boss continues to persist with an out-of-form Bamford, then it's only a matter of time before Arsenal opt to recall Eddie Nketiah from his loan spell at Elland Road.
