It's been a superb season for Huddersfield Town regardless of whether they make it to the Premier League, and David Wagner seems to have gotten a real balance of quality and experience down at the John Smith's Stadium.

In a campaign that saw Huddersfield race towards the play-offs, we've seen some superb work from the Terriers as they even chased the automatic places for a spell.

And despite ending the season on a bit of a whimper, they're still in their play-off semi-final tie against Sheffield Wednesday and have plenty to look forward to in the future.

But whatever division the Terriers find themselves in next season, it's important that David Wagner improves his squad over the summer to ensure this good season doesn't go to wait.

One man we think Huddersfield should be certainly targeting over the summer months is £1.2million-rated Barnsley centre-back Marc Roberts, who has been in superb form all season-long.

The Tykes finished in 14th place this campaign, well away from the relegation zone and Roberts' strong form had a lot to do with their strong finish.

He's played 43 times for Barnsley this season, scoring four goals and assisting three times in the process, suggesting that he's also impressive going forward as well as at the back.

But it's his defensive work that has really shone throughout this current campaign and the 26-year-old has made fantastic progress having made the move to Oakwell from Halifax Town back in 2015.

He's a burly unit who reads the game superbly well at this level and is certainly the sort of player that could make the move to a higher level sooner rather than later.

This sort of move might depend on whether Huddersfield do in fact make it to the Premier League or not, but Roberts is certainly the sort of player that will be snapped up after some fantastic performances.

It might as well be Huddersfield that pick him up.

Terriers fans- do you think Roberts would be a good addition to the squad this summer? Leave your thoughts in the comments below!
