Many Charlton fans have responded to news of the new alternate kit on Twitter with delight.

Charlton revealed the new kit today (July 12) by posting a Tweet of the new third kit, as modelled by summer signing Chuks Aneke and female players Charlotte Keer and Ellie Leek.

The Hummel kit is the first of the three kits to be revealed by the club and will be worn for the first time on Saturday when the club face Welling United in a pre-season friendly.

The third kit will be used when there are any colour clashes with the club's home and away colours, and will also be used as the women's away kit.

The colours have been described as 'scuba and marine' by the club website, and the design of the shirt is effectively a plain top with panels that run along the shoulder and under the arms.

There will then be darker blue shorts and socks to accompany the lighter blue top.

The shirt provides a first glimpse of Children with Cancer UK’s partnership with the club, with the charity’s logo taking pride of place following the announcement that BETDAQ’s holding company GVC had donated their sponsorship for the 2019/20 season.

The shirts are available to buy from August 2.

Lots of Charlton fans were delighted with the new kit, and thought it looked great. One user even asked if they could make this the away kit instead next season.
