Karl Robinson's Oxford United have enjoyed a mixed start to the campaign so far, with the U's having so far picked up four wins, three draws and four losses so far this season.

Robinson underwent something of a regeneration of his squad this summer, with the former Milton Keynes boss bringing in a total of 13 new additions to the Kassam Stadium, whilst a further 11 headed the other way through the exit door, including the likes of key players Gavin Whyte and Curtis Nelson, who both signed for Championship side Cardiff City.

One of Robinson's new signings has really hit the ground running since arriving at the club, with 23-year-old winger Tariqe Fosu taking to life at the Oxfordshire based club like a duck to water since arriving from Charlton Athletic on a free transfer.

Fosu has enjoyed something of a stop-start career so far, with the youngster on the books of Reading for a good number of years, after coming through their youth academy, he was loaned out to several Football League clubs including Accrington Stanley, Fleetwood Town and finally Colchester United, before finally leaving the Royals for Charlton.

It was at the south London club that he enjoyed some of the best form of his career, with the 2017/2018 season being particularly good to the winger as he scored nine and assisted a further four for the Addicks in 30 League One appearances. The former Reading man would go on to play a big part in Charlton's promotion last season to the Championship before arriving at the Kassam this summer.

He has started well under Robinson, who also managed him during his time at Charlton, with the wide man having so far notched four goals in his first 10 league games, whilst also contributing one assist in what has been a bright start to his Oxford career.

It is clear to see how crucial Fosu is to Robinson's plans, with stats from WhoScored.com showing that the youngster averages 1.3 shots, 1.1 key passes and 1.8 dribbles per game, making him one of the U's most prominent threats when attacking the opposition. And Fosu showcased his talents to great effect in the recent 6-0 away win at Lincoln City, with the 23-year-old netting a superb hat-trick to cap a brilliant individual performance.

In addition to his creative statistics, Fosu also contributes heavily to his team's possession-based style of play, with the 23-year-old averaging a pass success rate of 80%, which is an impressive rate for a winger who doesn't spend long periods of games in possession.

With Fosu having made the left-wing position in Robinson's preferred 4-2-3-1 system, there is surely more to come from a player who is finally seeming to have realised his obvious potential this season.
