Aston Villa have a fitness worry as they prepare to host Blackburn this weekend with top scorer Tammy Abraham a doubt because of a calf injury.

The on-loan Chelsea man missed England U21s draw with Poland on Thursday and will not be involved against Germany tonight for Aidy Boothroyd's side.

Villa will assess the injury and whilst it's not thought to be serious the Express & Star confirmed that Abraham is a doubt.

Should he miss out many would expect Dean Smith to turn to Jonathan Kodjia as he is the most senior option out there.

However, there is a feeling that Keinan Davis might be given the nod, with Smith revealing that he has been very impressed with the 21-year-old after he returned from a long lay-off.

With Kodjia out of form, Davis will be hoping that he is given an opportunity and it could be a real chance for him to gain the trust of the manager.

He previously displayed his talent under Steve Bruce but injuries have prevented him from featuring much at all under Smith.

Yet, with a good physique and technical ability that helps him link-up play, he could give the team a similar presence to Abraham up top.

Obviously, he's nowhere near the finished article but Davis has been linked with some top clubs in the past so the talent is clearly there.

So, the target man will be hoping to show what he's all about this weekend if his teammate is absent and provide the manager with another attacking option as Villa prepare for a crucial final eight games of the season.
