The January transfer window has been a quiet one for Aston Villa, who despite finding themselves well in the hunt for a Premier League return, haven’t been seen to be throwing money at their already talented squad.

During the first-half of the season Bruce has led his side to fourth in the Sky Bet Championship table, and heading into this evening’s clash with Sheffield United, Villa are on a good run of form, having won four consecutive league fixtures.

Axel Tuanzebe has been added to Villa’s squad ahead of that trip to Bramall Lane, with the on-loan Manchester United youngster Bruce’s only signing of the January transfer window, which is set to close tomorrow at 11pm.

Of course, Bruce could be a late mover in the window and look to bolster his squad in the next couple of days, but he could also continue to look to trim it down, as has been the theme this month at Villa Park.

With that in mind, we take a look at TWO players who could be on their way out of Villa Park before the end of the window…

James Bree

Bree has found himself behind the likes of Ahmed Elmohamady and Alan Hutton all season, with the right-back position well covered at Villa Park.

At 20, Bree still has a big future at Villa Park, and any move this month would almost certainly only be a temporary one.

Tuanzebe’s arrival means Bruce has another body in defence, and with the on-loan star able to cover at right-back, this month could be the perfect time for Bree to get away and play some regular football.

Callum O’Hare

Like Bree, Villa wouldn’t want to lose O’Hare permanently, but with his opportunities looking limited in the first-team this season, the youngster could be pushing for a loan move.

O’Hare is perhaps the standout youngster at Villa Park, with many wanting to see him handed a regular first-team opportunity by Bruce.

However, with Villa pushing for promotion, that chance doesn’t appear to be coming, and if a suitable offer comes in to take O’Hare on-loan, we could see the 19-year-old on the move.
