Dean Smith will be looking to kick off his managerial stint at Aston Villa with a win against Swansea City this Saturday afternoon.

The former Brentford boss will be looking to turn the tide around at Villa Park after a dismal start to the season, and having won just one of their last ten league games, any result will be welcomed by Villa fans.

The Villans sit 15th in the Championship after three wins, six draws and three defeats from their opening twelve league outings, however the appointment of Smith has restore optimism and hope in the Villa Park faithful.

There are bound to be some players that will be given a new lease of life under Smith, and some outcasts are likely to become regulars under Smith.

With that being said though, here, we take a look at the Villa players expected to miss the clash with Graham Potter's Swansea City this weekend.

Jedinak was an ever-present under former Villa boss Steve Bruce - he was chosen to play centre-back many times much to the dismay of Villa fans.

However, having conceded 20 goals in the league this term, Jedinak may be rested this weekend in order to make way for a new defensive pair.

Quite an obvious one, but Villa striker Keinan Davis is still battling a long-term injury and won't be available for this one.

The 20-year old hasn't made an appearance for Villa this term, and what has been an extremely frustrating time for the forward thus far.

Elmohamady played 90 minutes for Egypt against Swaziland on Tuesday night, and Saturday afternoon may come just too quick for the 31-year old right-back.
