Aston Villa will be hoping to make a much better go of a promotion push next season and the pressure is on manager Steve Bruce to start delivering results.

Villa ambled to a mid-table finish last time out and considering the millions they spent on their squad over the two transfer window, the finish just wasn’t high enough in the slightest.

Unlike Newcastle, who stormed back to the Premier League at the first attempt, Villa didn’t show enough to even warrant a play-off place and things really need to improve next time out.

And one man we at the FLW think needs to leave the club over the summer months is Jordan Amavi, who’s run at Villa looks to be coming to an end.

The Frenchman is by far one of the most valuable assets currently on the books at Villa Park and he’s the sort of individual that really didn’t play well enough as Villa stumbled last season.

And going forward, that’s the sort of attitude that can’t play a part of future proceedings at the club, especially after yet another disappointing campaign.

There are full-backs that are worth far less than in this division that far outshone Amvai last season and that price-tag doesn’t at all represent the quality that he should be offering the first-team.

To get rid of all of that bad feeling, Villa would be better off letting him go over the summer to recoup as much money as possible.

A return to France would probably in the offing but for another competitive season in the Championship, he’s just not what Villa need right now.
