It’s set to be as busy a summer as ever for Aston Villa who, under the guidance of owner Dr Tony Xi, will surely be one of the big spenders in the division yet again.

The Villains certainly haven’t held back in either of the last two windows, spending millions and millions of pounds as they looked to bounce straight back to the Premier League.

Of course, it didn’t quite go to plan for then-manager Roberto Di Matteo and now Steve Bruce but moving forward, there’s belief on the Aston Villa terraces that this could be their year.

But one man that looks certain to struggle in the first team yet again due to the growing competition at the club is stalwart Gary Gardner.

The combative centre-midfielder is well liked amongst the Villa Park faithful but the fact of the matter is that there are far too many midfielders now at the club for him to compete.

That’s why moving elsewhere would be the best move for his career at this stage and a transfer to QPR would be superb for both parties.

QPR and Ian Holloway would be getting a player that has played at both this level and in the Premier League and a man that would work seriously hard in the middle of the park.

The Englishman is well known for his belting long-range efforts and his ability to move the ball around in the midfield.

There must be change afoot for the Hoops again this summer as they look to improve on their timid campaign last time out and Gardner is a man who would seriously improve the ranks at Loftus Road.

He’s an Ian Holloway sort of player and one that, at this moment, looks like he’d do a superb job down in London.
