Cardiff City enjoyed mixed success in the Championship last time out, but there's hope amongst supporters that Neil Warnock will be able to guide the Bluebirds up the table in the upcoming season.

Moving forward, it's becoming increasingly important that teams at this level have a solid pre-season schedule and bring in the right players, as they look to better their league finishes from last time.

And there's one man we at the FLW think the Bluebirds should move for over the coming weeks or months and that's former Arsenal striker Yaya Sanogo, who was released by the Gunners earlier this week.

The Frenchman failed to have an impact at the Emirates, despite being tipped for great things when he joined back in 2013 from Auxerre and it's often been cited as one of the worst pieces of business ever done by Gunners manager Arsene Wenger.

But moving forward, there's plenty of emphasis on players like Sanogo getting a second chance despite things not having worked out at the top level, and exploring the possibility of a move into the first-tier should certainly be of interest to the Frenchman.

And with Cardiff looking to increase their firepower for the upcoming campaign and Kenneth Zohore looking seriously good at the tail-end of last season, Sanogo could be the sort of signing to put real pressure on the Dane as he looks to fire the Bluebirds up the table next time out.

There's a reason Arsenal brought Sanogo to London all those years ago because there was something there, at that time, that Arsene Wenger saw in him.

But right now, he needs a break and if there's someone that could get the best out of him, it's Neil Warnock.
