It's been a tough few months for Birmingham City down at St Andrews but thanks to the work of Harry Redknapp towards the end of the previous campaign, their Championship status was preserved.

But moving forward, it's clear that plenty of Blues supporters want the club to be built on sturdier foundations than the ones we saw laid down by Gianfranco Zola, during his treacherous spell in-charge at the top, and that things need to be a lot more solid going forward.

And here at the FLW, there's one man we've earmarked as potential transfer target for the Blues and that's Bournemouth's £4 million-rated striker Lys Mousset.

The Frenchman joined the Cherries from Le Havre last summer but as expected, he found game-time hard to come by at the Vitality Stadium.

Mansion, who owns an online gambling platform with many online casino games, sponsors the Cherries - and they'll no doubt be looking to secure another top half finish in the Premier League.

The 21-year-old has certainly been earmarked as a player for the future but he's the sort of individual that needs to start playing sooner rather than later.

Mousset would be a great signing for the Blues

He notched 14 goals in 29 appearances for his former employers - suggesting that he does know where the net is but 14 appearances, mainly from the bench, last time out, wielded no reward as he failed to score.

It's clear that Eddie Howe is a big fan of the pacy youngster but right now, he needs game-time and confidence under his belt so he can make a real stab of playing in the Premier League in the future.

And that's why we're earmarking a move to Birmingham as a good move right now in the player's career.

They're a team that by all accounts are on the up and a group that should be performing better under Harry Redknapp than they did under Zola.

They need change, they need pace and they need players who are willing to fight to see the Blues compete where they should be - not scrapping it out down at the bottom of the table on the final day.
