Leeds United fans everywhere will have been absolutely devastated when the news came through that their prolific talisman, Chris Wood, had departed Elland Road for Premier League outfit Burnley.

The New Zealand international was paramount to Leeds' campaign under Garry Monk last term, scoring 30 goals in under 50 appearances as the Whites just missed out on the last Championship play-off place.

This leaves Leeds boss Thomas Christiansen spoilt for choice as to he brings into the club to replace Wood, especially with a reported figure of £15 million to play around with following the powerful striker's departure to Turf Moor.

One player who Christiansen must look to sign to replace the prolific Wood, is AFC Bournemouth's Benik Afobe, who is valued at a price of £9million on Transfermarkt.com.

Since arriving from Wolves in 2016, Afobe has been in and out of the AFC Bournemouth starting eleven, has made just 26 starting appearances for the Cherries, netting 10 times.

The 24-year old may be keen for a switch away from the Vitality Stadium, to ensure game-time week in, week out.

The former Arsenal striker has been prolific in front of goal in the last few years, netting 23 times in 48 games for Wolves, whilst also scoring 10 goals in 22 appearances for MK Dons in the 2014/15 campaign.

The striker was infact the joint highest goalscorer in England in that campaign, alongside Harry Kane with 32 goals to their name in all competitions.

A player like Afobe needs consistent game time, and would add much needed firepower to the Leeds attack, it's not like Leeds cannot afford him either, what with a reported £15 million at their disposal following Wood's departure...
