It's been a tough season for Aston Villa in the Championship and Steve Bruce has a huge job on his hands to get them back into the Premier League next time out.

The former Birmingham City boss struggled to make a real impact during his first few months at Villa Park and the pressure on his shoulders is only rising as the season draws closer.

Villa have spent hundreds of millions already trying to escape the second-tier but there's real thought that with a good pre-season and some quality additions, they'll be back amongst the top-brass soon enough.

And there's one man we at the FLW think would be a superb signing this summer and that's Ayoze Perez.

The £7million-rated forward hasn't been amongst the goals and games as much as he might have liked this season and things are only going to get more difficult for him, as Newcastle take their place in the Premier League.

Rafa Benitez is going to be strengthening his squad over the summer months to ensure his team are good enough to remain in the division next season and Perez might be someone that is axed as a result of that.

But judging on this campaign and ones in the past, he's got enough creative talent and an eye for goal that makes him a seriously good player at this level.

Aston Villa need that something different going forward and the over-reliance on Jonathan Kodjia this campaign has been clear for all to see. He's now injured and Villa need someone else to carry the side going forward.

Perez might not be an out-and-out goalscorer but he's a creative, instinctive forward who has managed 12 goals and 7 assists this campaign.

It's a move certainly worth thinking about.

Villa fans- would this be a worthwhile move to make over the summer? Leave your thoughts down below!
