AFC Wimbledon continue to fight relegation in League One, as they sit in 19th place in the table with 34 points from their 34 games so far.

The side have favoured a more direct style of play this term, with long balls into the channels a common tactic used by Glyn Hodges' side.

That also means the Dons have the reputation for being a tough tackling side to come up against.

Here, we take a look at the seven best tacklers at AFC Wimbledon this season according to WhoScored. Agree?

In seventh place is AFC Wimbledon's Irish midfielder Shane McLoughlin, who has averaged a total of 1.4 tackles per game.

The 23-year-old has made a total of 25 appearances for the Dons so far this term.

Coming in at number 6 is Wimbledon left-wing-back Nesta Guinness-Walker.

The defender is currently in his first season of senior professional football, after joining the club in the summer from Metropolitan Police FC.

The 20-year-old averages 1.5 tackles per game.

In fifth place is Luke O'Neill, who has been used in a number of different positions so far this term, including at right-wing back and at the heart of the defence.

Next on the list is Brighton loanee Max Sanders, who mainly features for the Dons in the box-to-box midfield role.

The 21-year-old averages 1.9 tackles per game for Wimbledon.

Coming in third place is Anthony Wordsworth, who has had a stop and start campaign this term with recurring injuries.

The 31-year-old midfielder has made a total of just ten appearances for the Dons this campaign in League One.

He averages the same value as Max Sanders - 1.9 tackles per game.

In second is Callum Reilly, who has been in fine form for Wimbledon in recent times. The 26-year-old found the winner in the Dons' last league fixture against Gillingham in stoppage time.

Reilly averages two successful tackles per game from central midfield.

Although most of his season has been curtailed by injury, Will Nightingale comes in at Number 1.

The 24-year-old averages 2.9 successful tackles per game - a figure that is significantly higher than any other player in the squad.
