Bristol Rovers picked up their first win under Ben Garner against Blackpool last weekend.

The Pirates are 11 points adrift from the top six, so the focus will surely now be to finish this season with a flourish to boost them ahead of the 2020/21 campaign.

It must be difficult at times for the Gas, with their rivals Bristol City landing some big-money signings, while they don't have the financial might to keep up.

However, they have made some important additions of their own over the years.

With that in mind, we have compiled a list of the biggest transfer fees that Rovers have forked out, according to Transfermarkt...

The Gas' sixth most expensive signing of all times takes us back to the 1996/97 season.

Rovers signed the 21-year-old striker from Norwich City for £266,000.

Cureton enjoyed a fantastic period with his hometown club, making more than 150 appearances and scoring 74 goals.

Another striker, Evans arrived at the Memorial Stadium from West Bromwich Albion for £270,000 in October 2000.

The move didn't really work out for either player or club, with the forward scoring just three times before he left to join Plymouth Argyle in January 2001.

In contrast to the move for Evans, the signing of Lambert was a decision that definitely paid off for the Gas.

The big striker joined Rovers in July 2006 for £270,000 and proved a destructive force during his three years at the South West club.

Lambert scored 55 goals in 143 appearances for the Gas before sealing a move to Southampton.

The arrival of Jason Roberts, who signed from Wolves for £338,000 in July 1998, would prove a fantastic addition for Rovers.

The striker scored 48 goals in his two seasons at the Gas before sealing a big-money move to West Bromwich Albion.

The Frenchman made the switch to the South West club in July 2000 from Ligue 1 side FC Metz.

Rovers forked out £360,000 for the left-back, who was 22 at the time, and it would prove a poor investment.

Leoni only made 45 appearances during his two seasons at the Memorial Stadium and left to join Dundee United in 2002.

For Rovers most expensive signing of all time, we have to go all the way back to the 1992/93 season.

The Gas brought in Tillson from QPR, who were in the top flight at the time, for £401,000.

The defender would prove a fantastic servant to the club, making more than 250 appearances during his eight years at the Memorial Stadium. Mi
