Wolverhampton Wanderers are looking increasingly likely to challenge for promotion this season after a forgettable season last year.

The club finished 15th in the Championship table despite initial hope of an assault on the Play-Offs following a take over by mega-rich Fosun Group, who have transformed the club into a financial powerhouse.

Plenty of money was pumped into the squad in their first summer as owners of the club, but it failed to make any return, a win over Liverpool in the FA Cup the high point of the clubs season.

They're hoping for bigger things this season and have already fitted their squad out with signings like Willy Boly, John Ruddy and Ruben Neves.

They are desperate to bring in a striker, however, capable of firing them to the Premier League, and have been linked with Benik Afobe and Nelson Oliveira already this summer.

The club should instead move for Hull City striker Abel Hernandez. The Tigers seem pretty prepared to let go of their star players this season having already allowed Curtis Davies, Harry Maguire and Tom Huddlestone to leave, with Ahmed Elmohammedy having joined them.

Wolves should take advantage of their high number of outgoings and bring in the Uruguayan international, who enjoyed a stunning season during Hull's promotion campaign in 2015/16, netting 20 league goals for the club.

Rated at £6.80m by Transfermarkt, he was strongly touted for a move to Aston Villa last summer, though could help Wolves battle their Midlands rivals for automatic promotion this time around should they make a move.

He's a player full of flair and tenacity and is extremely quick, with a deadly finish for this level of football. He could form a lethal front three along with Ivan Cavaleiro and Helder Costa to take Wolves back to the big time.
