Rotherham have cultivated a persona of the typical yo-yo team, moving between League One and the Championship relatively freely.

They seem to have enough to get out of the third tier when asked, but upon promotion are strugglers, ultimately battling against the drop back to where they came from.

They usually survive by bringing in wise players, some experienced to help see them through, others diamonds plying their trade at a lower level. Of course, it doesn't always go right for them.

Occasionally they sign a player the fans would be best to forget, but here at FLW we're going to do our best to help them remember.

Here's four of their worst signings in recent times...

Blackstock just didn't work out, he scored once for the Millers in 16 outings and ended up with his contract terminated.

He came in for heavy criticism from the supporters and wasn't a popular figure before his departure.

The former Celtic centre back had a huge reputation to live up to, but he just didn't quite manage it with the Millers.

Injury pretty much finished his spell with Nottingham Forest, but eight poor outings for Rotherham truly ended his impressive career on a low point.

The 24-year old was an exciting player once, having been on the books of Leeds United.

He's now with Halifax and left Rotherham in disgrace after a high profile court case.

Certainly not one for the Hall of Fame.

Thorpe was a former Manchester United youngster who looked to be building towards an impressive career, but his move to Rotherham was a non-starter.

He made just nine league appearances in two years and left the club without ever living up to his reputation.
