Now QPR have had a considerable amount of media coverage for high-profile players being on a ridiculous amount of money.

But with the club looking as though they are seeing light at the end of the tunnel and with a number of young players forcing their way into Steve McClaren's first-team, QPR supporters have every reason to be optimistic about the club's future.

In recent years, QPR have had a number of success stories with players such as Adel Taarabt and Charlie Austin proving to be a real hit at Loftus Road.

What about the players who haven't made the grade at QPR though?

Find out who we rated as their worst signings to date here.....

The club's record signing at £12.5m is quite frankly ridiculous for FFP and is one of the reasons QPR have been financially troubled ever since.

Samba made just 10 appearances in the QPR side that were relegated.

It's a miracle that QPR almost got all of their money back for him as he was sold to Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala for £12m.

The less said about Onyewu's spell at QPR the better.

He failed to make a single appearance at the club and was sent out on loan to Championship side Sheffield Wednesday before making the move to Charlton Athletic in another disappointing spell in England.

You might be seeing the issue QPR had with FFP here as Ferdinand is another centre-back that was on high wages, with little return.

Ferdinand made 12 appearances for the side that were relegated from the Premier League.

He retired from professional football just days later.

It might be slightly harsh to include Gladwin amongst one of the worst signings for QPR in the last five years but having played in 17 matches for the Hoops over two seasons, it's certainly a disappointing spell.

He failed to score in any of his appearances for the side and moved to Blackburn on a permanent deal in 2017.
