Sheffield United fans will one day be hoping to see their side return to the Premier League, especially after a difficult transition period that the club has gone through in recent years.

The Blades have been in the top tier of English football in the past in a high moment for the club's supporters but they have also suffered one of the worst moments in their history when they were playing in League 1.

But at present, the club have settled and established themselves in the Championship under Chris Wilder.

The club has had a number of players that have disappointed since they move to Bramall Lane

So we can all agree that Sheffield United, like any club, has had some truly awful signings in recent seasons and fans will be keen to forget they even played for the club.

But who do we think has been the four most depressing signings of all-time for the Blades?

Find out who makes the list here....

The winger had impressive spells at Bristol City, York City and Millwall before he arrived at Bramall Lane.

But Woolford made 28 appearances and only scored once for the club which will certainly be disappointing reading for the Sheffield United supporters.

Westlake signed Sheffield United in 2012, but failed to make much of an impact on the squad.

He made just 18 appearances in a disappointing spell with the club - and his career has taken a downward spiral ever since he departed from the club.

The defender is now playing for Stourbridge in the lower leagues of English football.

Hammond arrived at the club towards the end of his career and with his reported high wages, this was a poor signing.

He only scored twice in 30 appearances for the club, and it won't come as a surprise that he didn't return to the club after the loan spell.

Many fans consider Hammond to be the worst signing the club has made in recent years.

Sammon signed for the Blades on a loan deal for the 2015/2016 season and it certainly was an uninspiring signing, to say the least.

The forward made 33 appearances for the club, but having only found the back of the net on five occasions, it's safe to say that he failed to make a positive impact in his time at the club.
