It's fair to say that every club has had their fair share of poor signings in their history, and Reading are no different, despite some positives seasons in recent years.

The Royals have been in the Premier League and the Championship in recent seasons and they will be looking for a return to the top-flight in the near future.

There has also been an ownership change at the club as well in recent years, so there have been many questionable signings that have occurred at the Madejski Stadium.

The likes of Joey Van Den Berg, Danzell Gravenberch and Anton Ferdinand were all signed to the surprise of Reading fans, but they certainly aren't the most depressing signings the club have made in recent years.

There have been some success stories from arrivals at the club such as Kevin Doyle, Jimmy Kebe and Liam Moore but the Royals have definitely had more disappointing signings recently.

But who are the most depressing signings Reading of all-time?

Find out here....

The Peru international arrived at the Berkshire based club in 2015, but has completely flopped.

Hurtado has made just six appearances for the Royals in two seasons and moved back to Portugal in an attempt to recapture the sort of form that saw Reading interested in him in the first place.

This was during a so called 'rebuilding season' for the Royals.

It turned out to be an awful signing, in an awful season for Reading.

Knight made just two appearances as the Royals survived in the Championship before leaving the club and is yet to find another club since leaving Reading.

A truly pointless and awful signing.

The Liechtenstein international is yet to make a first-team appearance since he arrived in August 2016.

His most notable contribution was being sent-off in a Reading Under 23's match in the Checkatrade Trophy.

Wieser is definitely up there as one of the worst signings Reading have ever made.

Where do we start with this man?

The left-back signed from FK Baku in Azerbaijan on a free and went on to make just one appearance which was in a 4-1 defeat to Watford.

An uninspiring signing who unsurprisingly failed to make an impact on the Reading side.
