Every club has had some signings that at first have seemed either questionable or just quite frankly, outright ridiculous.

Bolton are no different and have had some players who have arrived with a big reputation to live up to, which they have certainly failed to do.

Former Trotters boss Sam Allardyce has been at the heart of many of the appalling signings, as he has provided us with some hilarious signings that have unsurprisingly failed to make the grade at Bolton.

The club have settled down in recent years and seem to be making more reasonable additions to their squad and Bolton fans will be hoping that it can stay that way for the foreseeable future.

With the club in the Championship nowadays, the club's supporters will be hopeful of seeing a return to the Premier League one day, but that does seem quite a long way away.

But who have we named as the four most depressing signings the club has made?

Find out here.....

Jardel arrived at Bolton with an impressive goalscoring record but he failed to replicate that with the Trotters.

After scoring 53 goals in 49 appearances, Jardel failed to score a single goal in his time with Bolton and left the club after just seven first-team appearances.

Cid arrived from French side Bordeaux and had quite possibly the worst time seen in a Bolton shirt for a long while.

He made just seven appearances, including a horrific debut against Everton and was left the club by mutual consent in 2008.

After a number of poor performances he was labelled 'the hapless Gerald Cid' by Bolton Evening News journalist Gordon Sharrock.

Rasiak was signed as a replacement to the impressive Nicolas Anelka and failed to deliver on numerous occasions.

He joined the club on loan from Southampton but didn't score a single goal for the club in a hugely disappointing spell.

Facey is certainly up there as one of the worst signings the club has ever made.

He cost the Trotters a considerable amount of money after signing from Huddersfield Town, he only scored twice in ten appearances for the club and left to join West Brom in 2004.
