During QPR's rebuilding phase, there has been no shortage of coming and goings.

Annual squad overhauls with new managers, and plenty of players that have failed to reach the bar that was expected of them.

However, there are certain players which have fallen far below that line and will be considered as 'flops' in the decade that has brought turmoil on and off the pitch at QPR.

Here, we look at FOUR that shouldn't have been...

Junior Hoilett

The electric winger was signed in 2012 from Blackburn after his exceptional season at Blackburn. The then 22-year-old was only signed for a compensation fee due to being under 23-years-old.

However, when the Canadian entered his final year at Rangers, the only memorable thing about Hoilett's time at QPR was the winger blundering the ball past Jake Buxton, putting the ball into the centre of the box, only for Richard Keogh to make the worst defensive error of his career.

While that moment will be ingrained in QPR history forever, Hoilett failed to reach the mark that was expected of him. He scored 12 league goals for Rangers in four-years - one fewer than his total at Blackburn.

Hoilett left Rangers in 2016 as one of the Mark Hughes players that failed to deliver.

Sean Goss

'The next Michael Carrick'. It was a tag Sean Goss had already received when he moved from Manchester United to QPR in 2017. Since signing for the West London side, he has made only six league appearances and has played for 232 minutes.

He was then sent on-loan twice to Scottish clubs - Rangers and St Johnstone. Goss' Rangers nightmare came to a close in the summer after the club allowed him to leave on a free transfer to Shrewsbury Town.

His underwhelming career at the Kiyan Prince Foundation stadium is an example of some of the miss-firing investments QPR have made in recent years.

Leroy Fer

The intimidating midfield presence was signed from Norwich on a five-year deal in 2014, but, despite glimpses of promise, the Netherlands international failed to maintain performances, especially once relegation beckoned.

After relegation to the Championship, Fer only made 19 appearances for QPR. He was quickly sold in 2016 to Swansea, which a two-year spell. The talented midfielder most likely didn't fit the team at the time, with an attitude that seemed to hurt the team.

Conor Washington

Washington was signed from Peterborough after a formidable scoring streak of 14 goals in 19 appearances. However, when the striker failed to score for QPR in the second-half of the 2015/16 season.

In 73 appearances in the next two seasons, Washington could score only 13 goals. The Northern Irishman seemed to possess the goalscoring talent, but he was always off the mark. Inconsistent support from manager Ian Holloway and style of play also hurt his QPR career.

Washtongton's time at QPR was riddled with 'what ifs' and a belief from some supporters that he was unlucky. Nonetheless, Washington was a widely unsuccessful signing and his departure last season was the best for both parties.
