Harry Redknapp has a big job on his sat Birmingham City for the final couple of games of the season after the mess Gianfranco Zola has left behind at St Andrews, following his ill-fated spell in-charge at the Championship club.

The Italian wielded little success during his time in the Midlands, where he led Birmingham from promotion-chasers to relegation battlers in just a matter of months.

It's clear that whatever happens this summer, the club needs to see some improvement added to the ranks and if Harry Redknapp does keep the job, it seems supporters are happy that he'll be the man making decisions.

And as strange as it might be for some Blues supporters, we think the addition of £3million-rated Micah Richards from Aston Villa could be an excellent starting point if Redknapp does keep the job.

An unpopular figure at Villa Park following the poor season in the Premier League last year, Richards hasn't seen much first-team action at all this season and he'll most likely be on the move this summer.

And whilst the link between the two clubs is a big deal for certain supporters on both sides of the Second-City divide, you can't doubt that when he's playing well, Richards is a good player at this level.

He performed decently at Manchester City for a couple of years and should Redknapp get him back to fitness and switched on again, he could be a real asset at the Blues.

A risky move for a player who has disappointed in the past but certainly one that deserves a new chance- just like Birmingham have been given under Redknapp.
