Mansfield Town have kicked off preparations for the 2017/18 season with an almighty bang, with 12 new players already making their way through the entrance of the One Call Stadium.

Zander Diamond, Paul Anderson and Lee Angol are just a quarter of the names that Steve Evans has managed to lure to the club, which in turn shows the desire and intent that the Stags have to get out of League Two in 2017/18.

Evans is a mightily experienced manager who knows how to get out of this division and kick on from there on in, and with nine career promotions under his belt, this season looks incredibly likely to be the tenth.

The former Rotherham United and Leeds United manager insists there is still work to be done however, and there is one player who would round off what has been an excellent close-season transfer-wise.

That player is Sheffield United winger Matt Done, who is rated at a price of £383k on Transfermarkt.com.

Done was transfer listed by the Blades at the end of the 2016/17 campaign, as Chris Wilder prepares to overhaul his squad in preparation for the Championship following their magnificent promotion-winning campaign from League One last term.

The 28-year old wasn't really given a look-in by Wilder last term, in a team that was spearheaded by 30-goal man Billy Sharp and Leon Clarke.

Despite his lack of game time however, the attacker still has plenty to offer in League One, and Evans could, and should, definitely attempt to lure him to Mansfield.

Done was signed by Nigel Clough for Sheffield United from Rochdale back in the 2014/15 campaign, where he netted 14 times in 30 appearances in a struggling Dale outfit.

He then hit the ground running at Bramall Lane, netting 8 times in his first 17 appearances for the Yorkshire club, however injuries then took its toll on his amount of game time.

With his ability to play either as a winger or as a striker, Done possesses pace and a real eye for goal that would be key assets for the Stags next season, and Steve Evans should definitely look to bring him to Mansfield Town for a bargain price while he is placed on Blades' transfer list.
