It's been a season of learning down at Loftus Road for QPR, but there's thought amongst the supporters that the club is far better equipped under the leadership of Ian Holloway.

Following Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's mid-season sacking, the former Blackpool chief came in to pick up the pieces and as expected the R's finished healthily above the relegation zone, but with little else to shout about.

QPR are a club that are still trying to get over the first years of Tony Fernandes' spell at the helm, which resulted in huge transfer fees being paid out when the success that was achieved was minimal.

But looking ahead to next season, the Hoops need to bring in some proven Championship quality to really help their side improve over the summer months.

And one man who would be a superb addition to the squad is £300,000-rated Preston North End striker Jordan Hugill, who has been superb for the Lilywhites this season.

At one point, PNE were seriously mounting a push for the play-offs themselves but they fell short as other teams around them begun to pick up form.

But Hugill has been a big part of a lot of the good work we've seen down at Deepdale this season, scoring 13 goals and assisting three times too.

Granted, he's not the most attractive striker in the world but when it comes to throwing your weight around and really getting in and amongst opposition defenders, Hugill has been fantastic.

He's led the line on his own for much of the season and you've got to wonder whether he'd be a better outlet than the hapless Idrissa Sylla, who has been poor since signing for the club.

Price-wise, he's not going to break the bank and as an investment, it's a move that could make real sense for Holloway and QPR.
