Championship leaders West Brom are back in action after the international break when they welcome Sheffield Wednesday to The Hawthorns.

Whilst many would fancy Albion to beat the Owls on their own turf, the Baggies task has been made harder by the fact that first-choice midfield pairing Jake Livermore and the classy Romaine Sawyers are suspended after they both collected their fifth booking at Hull last time out.

That has presented Slaven Bilic with a real problem going into the game as the duo have been regulars all season.

But, Albion have strength in depth and this will open the door for some others to get a chance as they look to impress.

Here we look at THREE players who will be desperate to show in training that they warrant a start...

Gareth Barry

After his contract dispute with Everton was sorted, Albion completed the signing of Barry again earlier this month.

So, he has to be in the frame to start against Wednesday and this international break will be the perfect opportunity for the experienced manager to show he is fit and ready to play.

Rekeem Harper

The youngster has had a frustrating start to the campaign and has only played seven minutes in the league.

So, whilst it would seem a long shot that he comes into the XI, the fact is he has the energy and drive that provides the team with something different.

That attacking impetus could be needed, particularly with Sawyers' playmaking ability missing.

Chris Brunt

Bilic may be reluctant to partner Barry with Chris Brunt in midfield given the age and lack of pace and mobility of the pair.

So, if it is a case of one or the other, the Northern Irishman will know he has to impress in training too as he looks to get a rare start this season.
