After a difficult festive period and with a number of key players sidelined due to injury, you feel the January transfer window could be an interesting period for Blackburn Rovers.

Tony Mowbray's side sit 13th in the Championship as things stand, after a four-game winless run in the league, but are still within five points of the top six.

Some shrewd business in the transfer window would likely give their play-off hopes a huge boost in the second half of the season.

With that in mind, here are three transfer decisions that Blackburn will be mulling over at the minute.

Whether to push hard for Scott McKenna.

According to the Daily Mail, Rovers are one of a number of sides, including local rivals Burnley and a number of Championship and Bundesliga clubs, that are interested in Aberdeen centre-back Scott McKenna.

The 23-year-old looks an impressive defender with a bright future but with all the competition for him and his current deal extending to 2023, he may not be cheap.

Aberdeen are understood to have valued him at £6 million in the summer, so Blackburn will likely have to fork out more than that.

Rovers will no doubt be mulling over whether to push hard for the defender and given the reported attention, you feel they will have to do just that if they're to secure the signing.

Whether to cash in on Corry Evans.

According to Lancashire Live, Stoke City are interested in signing Blackburn midfielder Corry Evans, who played under Michael O'Neill for Northern Ireland.

The 29-year-old has been a bit-part player for Mowbray this season, appearing just 11 times in the league, but given the current injury troubles, it may be wise to keep hold of him as cover.

However, Evans only has 18 months left on his current deal, so if Stoke come with a decent offer you could understand if Blackburn would be keen to take it.

Whether to battle for the signing of George Tanner.

Manchester Evening News has claimed that Blackburn are one of a number of sides interested in Manchester United full-back George Tanner.

Tanner could reportedly cut his loan at Morecambe short and with six months left on his contract may be available on a cut-price permanent deal.

The 20-year-old looks like he could be one for the future but it is understood Rovers may face some competition, with Derby County, Portsmouth, and New York Red Bulls having also contacted United about the defender.

Blackburn may have to provide him with a tantalising offer to ensure he chooses Ewood Park.
