The 3 Sunderland players walking a tightrope at the Stadium of Light at the moment

Ahead of pre-season starting, Sunderland manager Jack Ross will be running the rule over his squad.

Having taken over from Chris Coleman in the summer ahead of their upcoming League One campaign, Ross needs to look at his squad to decide who to keep, who to sell, who to loan out and which positions need strengthening.

There will be a number of players set for the exit door this summer after failing to prevent Sunderland from relegation.

Too many players have been under-performing and they need to be axed in a major shake-up this summer.

As well as the fact that the results on the pitch have not been up to scratch, high wages will also be a concern, especially for those who were with Sunderland when they were playing Premier League football the season before last.

With that to be considered, here are three players that have doubtful Sunderland futures ahead of next season.
