Sheffield Wednesday are yet to really get their summer plans going this season with them yet to bring in some significant new faces.

The men from the Steel City finished the campaign strongly in 2017/18 after what had proven to be a pretty tough season.

For sure, then, fans will have been hoping that the club would build on that momentum with some signings early on in this window but, so far, that has not been the case.

With that said, then, might it be that the club are looking to offload some players before they can bring some into balance the books?

Certainly, it wouldn't be a surprise at all if that is what the Owls are planning after spending some decent money in years gone by and so, that said, here are three players we think are walking a tightrope at the club right now.

Click on to see who they are...

Jordan Rhodes is a player who needs to prove himself next season but there is a good chance that the striker won't be at Sheffield Wednesday if they are looking to balance things up.

He's a player with ability - he's just low on confidence - and would still bring in some money that the Owls could use how they wish.

Steven Fletcher is another striker potentially in trouble.

The Owls are well stocked in terms of forward players at the moment but not all of them can play and, equally, not all have done enough to stick around.

After a promising start last season for the club he fell away and could now potentially be off.

Marco Matias has some decent technical ability about him but is he good enough for the club to be playing him week in, week out?

He's not manage to force himself into the side of late and you'd imagine if a bid came in for him the club would be willing to let him go this summer.
