Leeds United confirmed the appointment of Paul Heckingbottom as the club’s new boss today, filling the void left by Thomas Christiansen.

The Danish manager departed on Sunday and Leeds acted swiftly to poach Heckingbottom from Yorkshire rivals Barnsley.

The 40-year-old boss has only ever managed at the Tykes and comes into Leeds with a tough task on his hands, as the Whites still have ambitions of reaching the top six.
