QPR have enjoyed a magnificent end to 2018 and look like they could be the surprise team in the mix for the play-offs by May.

After a truly dreadful start to the campaign, many feared for Steve McClaren and his side but they've turned things around incredibly.

However, their financial situation is still far from ideal and the former England boss will be unable to spend to bring in players in during the window as the club operate under an agreed embargo for breaching FFP regulations in the past.

Therefore, the only real activity we expect to see at Loftus Road is players moving on and McClaren will want to shift some of his fringe players in order to free up space in the summer.

Here we look at THREE players who will surely be off in the New Year...

The former Manchester United man just can't get a look-in now and needs to be playing regularly elsewhere.

McClaren has a host of better options in the middle of the park and it's hard to see how Goss gets a chance given the competition.

The youngster will perhaps only leave on loan as he does have a lot of talent and could become an important player at the club in the future.

However, despite making a real impact under Ian Holloway, this season has been tough for Smyth.

He is another who needs game time to help his development so a move is essential for the Northern Ireland international.

Finally, Sylla will also be keen to leave Loftus Road in the window.

He hasn't been given many opportunities under McClaren because quite simply there are better options now at the club, so it's unlikely to change as well.
