Burnley’s pre-season preparations are underway as a new era begins at the club.

Vincent Kompany has taken charge of the first team squad ahead of the Clarets’ return to the Championship.

It has also been a summer of upheaval, with the likes of James Tarkowski, Ben Mee and Nick Pope having already left the club.

But there could yet be more faces heading for the exit door, with the two months still remaining in the market.

Here are three Burnley players who face an uncertain future with the transfer window in full flow…

Nathan Collins

The Irishman is the subject of a £20.5 million offer from Wolves, with both clubs in advanced negotiations over his future.

The defender was a standout player in the closing weeks of the last campaign as Burnley struggled against relegation.

This has seen Collins garner interest from Premier League clubs with a view to a summer move.

But Bruno Lage’s side have now taken pole position in discussions with the Clarets, with the former Stoke player nearing an exit from Turf Moor.

Maxwel Cornet

The winger has attracted plenty of Premier League interest following Burnley’s relegation to the Championship.

Cornet was easily the most electrifying player in Sean Dyche’s side last season, and his £17.5 million release clause has seen reports suggesting the likes of Chelsea, Fulham and Nottingham Forest eyeing a possible move.

Given the talent of the former Lyon player, it would come as no surprise to see the 25-year old leave the club this summer to seek top flight football.

He would be a big loss to Kompany’s side, but an expected one given the nature of his release clause.

Dwight McNeil

The winger has been linked with a move away from Burnley this summer, with Crystal Palace looking to secure his signature.

West Ham are also interested in the 22-year old, with David Moyes and Patrick Vieira both aiming to improve their first team squad this summer.

It is likely that his time at the club is set to come to an end after performing well at Turf Moor since his breakthrough into the first team at the age of only 18.
