Gary Roberts

After Paul Cook led Chesterfield to a complete blitz of League Two in the 13/14 campaign, then defying the odds and almost clinching promotion to the Championship the season after that, Roberts was the catalyst of all the Spireites’ successes.

Having made 40 appearances for the Blues, netting 12 times and assisting 10 times, the attacking midfielder has lightened up the Fratton turf, and has made a fantastic impact at the club.

The “lower league Zidane”, as the rendition of his song goes, has already netted 4 goals this term, and looks to play yet another influential role for Pompey again this time around.
