With Paul Cook at the helm, Portsmouth definitely look like a club on the ascent, and finally look absolute shoe-ins for promotion from EFL League Two this term.
With remarkable attendances reaching over 15,000 every week, the Fratton Park faithful have endured every single emotion possible in the human body it seems, looking likely for liquidation a number of years ago, to coming agonisingly close to promotion last term.
But this year, you’d have to tip Pompey as favourites to go straight up to League One. With a number of exceptional signings arriving at the South Coast in the summer, the likes of Carl Baker, David Forde, and Milan Lalkovic joining from MK Dons, Millwall, and Walsall respectively.
However, they have only been at the club for a couple of months, so it’s hard to really label them as quality signings as they are yet to make an impact at the club.
