At the turn of the century, the Hoops were just a standard Football League club, that would never really threaten for promotion to the Premier League.
However, new ownership in the last decade made the R’s a real promotion candidate, and they were promoted to the top flight.
The transfer windows that followed were unheard of, with the newly promoted side flaunting the cash left right and centre at exotic talent.
Experienced players such as Julio Cesar joined the club, and the fans were sold unrealistic dreams of potentially achieving a spot in European football.
Unfortunately for QPR they were relegated, twice. The dreams of being a solid Premier League club came to a fast end, and the Loftus Road club quickly became content with the struggles of the Football League.
