Leeds United have had a decade or two to forget, falling from the grace of the Premier League to the annals of the Football League.

After winning the First Division title under Howard Wilkinson just before the inception of the Premier League, Leeds struggled to compete for the titles they once could.

The Whites were relegated from the Premier League and have not really looked like returning, with a few poor teams not looking good enough in the Championship.

With the downfall came a downturn in finances. Leeds could no longer attract the players or coaches that they once could.

So, Leeds have had to settle for loan signings quite regularly, as they can’t afford to promise players the luxuries of Premier League football.

Some of these have been good, but more have been deals to forget.

Here at FLW, we focus on the best of those deals, with the THREE best loan signings Leeds have secured in the last 20 years.

Gradel joined Leeds on loan in League One and helped Simon Grayson's side secure promotion.

He didn't find his goalscoring best whilst on loan, but he was a key addition in the 2009/10 season and went on to become a fan favourite.

Kyle Bartley is now a mainstay in the West Brom defence, but before that, he was one of the best Leeds signings in the last decade or so.

He joined the club on a season-long loan from Swansea and featured regularly as Garry Monk's side finished seventh.

He was a fan favourite and is sorely missed by the Elland Road faithful.

Rob Hulse is one of the few genuine success stories of Leeds’ many loan signings.

Hulse marked his debut with a brace against Reading and went on to score six goals before joining permanently.

He was also successful as a permanent signing.
