Norwich City haven't enjoyed the best of seasons back in the Championship, but with much of the central core of the squad now being released we could be set for a new era at Carrow Road.

The permanent manager is still yet unknown but it's fair to say Alan Irvine has done a satisfactory job since being implemented, as caretaker following the dismissal of Alex Neil earlier in the campaign.

Finishing the season on a high was a must for the East Anglia outfit; winning 4-0 against Ian Holloway's Queens Park Rangers on the final day.

Good days are surely a must in the coming years for Norwich City but it's time to reflect on the last ten, eleven months at the club which has brought many highs and lows, including wonder strikes, saves and everything else.

So baring that in mind, here are the side's THREE best goals from the 2016/17 campaign.....

Josh Murphy v Everton - 20.9.2016

Drawing away to Premier League side Everton in the third round of the EFL Cup, Norwich City were possibly fearing a hammering but much to their amazement they were able to pull off a shock 2-0 victory in the midweek encounter.

Steven Naismith got the opener, however, it was Josh Murphy who grabbed the headlines for his stunner to seal advancing into the next round.

The youngster dribbled past three or four players before smashing the ball into the far, top-corner.

The Canaries were knocked in the following stage on penalties to fellow Championship club Leeds United, but it'll be a goal that Murphy cherishes for years to come.

Jonny Howson v Nottingham Forest - 11.2.2017

Nottingham Forest were the visitors to Carrow Road in this mid-February encounter when Norwich City still had faint hopes of reaching the play-offs, and a victory would make sure they kept their dreams alive.

Just ten minutes into the game and we've potentially witnessed one of the best goals of the season across all divisions when midfielder Jonny Howson absolutely smashed his effort from 25 yards past the Forest goalkeeper.

It was, admittedly, incredible and the ex-Leeds United man would start a 5-1 thumping victory over the relegation-threatened team.

Alex Pritchard v Reading - 8.4.2017

Probably the highest point for anyone associated with Norwich City was when Reading were the victims of 7-1 thrashing against the Canaries at Carrow Road in early April.

Alex Pritchard, who signed for £8 million last summer, grabbed the third of the afternoon and it was an impeccable goal by the attacking midfielder.

The Royals were unable to clear properly which allowed the 24 year-old to turn and half-volley his effort into the right, leaving Ali Al-Habsi with no chance.

Pritchard grabbed two that game as Norwich bagged six before the interval.
