League One might not hold the glitz and glamour that the Premier League does, and it is even a million miles away from the Championship nowadays, with all the money floating about in the top two leagues. But one thing that makes League One stand out, is its passionate supporters.

For some clubs, it has been years in the wilderness, some trading places with the division below while some have enjoyed brief periods of success only to find themselves back in League One before they know it.

Clubs with rich history like Coventry currently find themselves in England's third tier, while clubs like Southampton, Sheffield Wednesday and Wolves have all had a spell down their in recent years.

However, most clubs continue to be well backed both home and away when it comes to a Saturday afternoon.

FLW writer Lee Connor has taken a look at what he believes are the THREE best supported clubs in League One currently...

Bradford City

The Yorkshire club have enjoyed considerable success over the last few seasons under now departed manager Phil Parkinson, with a couple of cup runs and a play off semi final to their name.

Their supporters have always been a mainstay of the club throughout the years, and this has continued over the past decade.

Last year, attendances were only bettered by Sheffield United in League One, while in terms of the ration of fans in the ground to capacity, they were right up there and top of the pile in terms of grounds holding over 20,000.

Stuart McCall has replaced Parkinson for next season, and he will be banking on the fans once more playing a vital part in the Bantams' season.

Charlton Athletic

Despite their troubles last season and off the field problems, in the main Charlton fans kept very loyal to the cause, despite seeing the club relegated come May.

Gone are the days of sell outs at the Valley and crowds of over 25,000, but they still managed to average a healthy crowd of just under 16,000 last term, something which is not at all shameful.

If Charlton can get off to a good start under Russell Slade next season then expect these attendances to climb. Indeed the last time they were in League One when they romped to the title, attendances were well above the 17k mark.

For a club with so many big names in close proximity, the Addicks still manage to attract a big following.

Sheffield United

The would be little argument in this one you would assume from most fans of League One clubs. The Blades have the highest attendance average in the league, both home and away, and can fill their ground easily for the big games.

Indeed when United were in the Premier League, attendances averaged around the 30,000 mark, and have still only dropped to around 19k average, even after 5 seasons in League One.

United need to get out of League One as soon as possible,  and a season in the Championship is guaranteed to push the average attendance further. Much like neighbours Wednesday, the Blades fans crave success, and will back their team to the hilt to try and achieve it.

League One fans, what do you think to this? Do you agree? Who is missing? Let us know in the comments!
