It's been an eventful week at Aston Villa Football Club to say the least.

The Villans parted company with manager Steve Bruce, after falling to a 3-3 draw against the division's strugglers Preston North End on Tuesday night, leaving the West Midlands club sitting in 13th place after winning just once in their last nine league games.

Kevin MacDonald has been left to pick up the pieces after Bruce's departure, as the caretaker boss prepares to take his Villa side to Millwall on Saturday afternoon.

The Lions have lost six of their last eight league outings and have only won one game this season, so on paper you'd have to fancy Villa's chances after what has been a torrid week.

Here, we take a look at three Villa XI dilemmas that MacDonald will be thinking about ahead of the clash at The Den.

Despite scoring in midweek, Jonathan Kodjia has looked lost out wide in recent weeks and definitely hasn't made an impact as he would do if he was up top.

Does MacDonald swap him out for Yannick Bolasie, or does he switch his formation to a 4-4-2 to play Kodjia alongside Abraham?

Speaking of Bolasie, the winger, once again came off the bench to make a magnificent impact, salvaging a late point for Villa against North End on Tuesday night.

The Everton loanee is yet to start for Villa, but after scoring twice and looking bright, he surely deserves a place in the XI tomorrow?

With James Chester unavailable for the clash with Millwall through suspension, then who will come in to replace him?

Steve Bruce was a strong admirer of Mile Jedinak at centre-half, a decision not taken lightly by Villa fans, or will James Bree come in to partner Axel Tuanzebe?
