It's been a superb season for Portsmouth in League Two, who were successfully made Champions having won the division this year.

Pompey have had a tough few years down in the lower tiers in English football but they're finally on their way back up the divisions, having been promoted this season and there's hope amongst the home faithful that the best times are still to come at Fratton Park once again.

But there's some big changes to be made over the summer months and if the ownership issues can be resolved after a number of takeover rumours, thought will soon have to turn to improving the squad for what will be a tough campaign next season.

And there's one player we think would be a super addition to Paul Cook's squad and that's £400,000-rated Barnet forward John Akinde, who has been in superb form this season.

Barnet finished 15th in the league this season and with Akinde scoring a mammoth 26 league goals this season, he's certainly the sort of player that would be worth keeping an eye on to supply the goals in League One next season.

Akinde has bags of experience from playing in the lower leagues in England for the past few years now and although Portsmouth have had the likes of Kal Naismith doing well and bringing in the goals this season, they'll need more to have any chance of pushing for the play-offs next season.

Akinde has proved to be a burly, strong and most importantly goal-getting striker this season and he's a man who should be on Pompey's radar this summer.
