Every now and then a club falls fowl of moving on a player who then goes on to shine elsewhere, and that is most certainly the case for Peterborough United and Erhun Oztumer.

The 25-year-old Turkish playmaker has shone having made the move to Walsall last summer, where he's gone on to score 15 goals across the course of the season - fantastic figures for someone that doesn't even play upfront.

But the Posh have definitely let a player go who in hindsight, they certainly should have kept.

Of course, sometimes it takes some players longer to develop and really come into a world of their own but Oztumer has settled and played fantastically well this season.

His movement, ability to score goals and willingness to bring his teammates into the game has been a real asset for Walsall this campaign and there's no doubt in the slightest that if he's playing well next season, they should be looking towards the play-offs next season.

But having let him go far too early, he's certainly the sort of player Peterborough should be looking to bring back too. They missed out on the biggest season of his career but now they have the chance to bring him back.

Rated at just £250,000 by Transfermarkt, he's not the most expensive player in the world either.

Peterborough fans- would you welcome Oztumer back to the club after a superb season this time out? Leave your thoughts in the comments below!
