It's been a poor season for Leeds United in the Championship but there's thought that with some solid additions over the summer, Garry Monk will be able to have another go at reaching the play-offs next time out.

Having crumbled with just a couple of weeks remaining, the pressure is on Leeds United to really step it up next season to show more metal when things aren't going their way.

The squad needs more experienced quality running through the spine and it was clear the bulk of the squad simply ran out of steam at the wrong time this year.

But one man that could be a massive part of proceedings next time out is £2.5million-rated forward Kemar Roofe, who had a solid but unspectacular season at Elland Road.

The former Oxford United playmaker has all the components needed to make it at this level without a shadow of a doubt but going forward, he needs to show more drive and finishing ability.

Four goals in 49 appearances this campaign doesn't make for the strongest of reading and it's clear that this is an area Leeds United need to improve on next season - bringing goals to other areas of the pitch.

The over-reliance on Chris Wood was absolutely huge at times this year and more goals need to come from the likes of Roofe next time out.

We've seen his goalscoring capabilities in the lower echelons of English football, but we now need to see it at Elland Road if Leeds are to get promoted next season.

Roofe is a top player at this level and if he steps it up as expected, he could be the driving force to their promotion push next season.
