Reading face Fulham on Tuesday night looking to get October underway with a victory having failed to record one in September.

The Royals did have a successful August though and showcased their talents in several different fixtures as new signing George Puscas was influential in their victory over recently relegated Cardiff City.

Since, it hasn't really happened for the Romanian and he'll be left low on confidence after recent performances and missed chances in front of goals.

Against Charlton, he had the opportunity to put the Royals one-nil up in first-half stoppage time as he raced through on goal with just the keeper to beat. His effort was poor and saved comfortably, and that led to the Addicks coming out in the second-half and securing victory against Gomes' inefficient Reading.

He then missed similar golden opportunities against Middlesbrough and Swansea as he blazed over, as Reading's goal-scoring problem seemed to continue to get worse.

He now will be very low on confidence heading into a massive game against Fulham, that the Royals will have to play at their best in, to avoid defeat. The striker has had continuous changing partners including Lucas Joao, Yakou Meite and Lucas Boye, which could be contributing to his lack of form.

Against Swansea, the 23-year-old struggled to hold up the ball and when he did make a good run, his team-mates were too slow in releasing the pass. You could see the strikers frustration as the game wore on, and you feel with the movement that he's making, it's only a matter of time before he nets again for Reading.

He does need it sooner rather than later, and it would be very interesting to see if Puscas would take a penalty, were Reading to be awarded one.

It's a really big clash tonight not just for him, but for the side, and if he could help the Royals overcome Fulham then it could be a massive turning point in the season for the club and the player as they look to improve on last season.
