This winter, QPR were looking at Hendon striker Nico Muir, a powerful centre forward with an impressive goals tally in the non-league.

Looking at Muir demonstrated than the Hoops are prepared to take a punt on an unproven player, certainly one without Championship experience. Muir is raw, but he knows where the back of the net is and in any division, that is crucial.

Maybe they were looking a little too low though. Stepping up from Hendon to the Championship would be a huge jump and one that could stifle a players progress.

What if there was a stop off in League Two though? There you could have a chance to prove yourself in the professional ranks before another leap. Perhaps QPR should be looking at the level in between Hendon and themselves. Muir would be better finding a club in the lower reaches of the league and QPR should look for a player who is already on the up. I know just the player.

Mohammed 'Mo' Eisa is the Nico Muir of yesterday, the player excelling in the non-league scene waiting for his chance. His chance came this season when Gary Johnson plucked him from Greenwich with nothing but a reputation and some goals to his name. He's gone on to take League Two by storm, pushing Cheltenham into the middle of the pack and earning rave reviews across the board.

The stats don't lie, he's bagged 20 goals this campaign which makes him the second leading scorer in the division. He's created six for his side too, but his game is all about the goals. He's so quick and direct, he plays with a raw energy you'd expect from a young, ambitious centre forward. There's no pressure on him, he hasn't stepped up too far too quick, but he's proving to be a real handful.

Defenders know it too, which is why he's been fouled 71 times in his 38 appearances. he frightens opposition players with his running and his knack of finding space in the box. If anything, I'm surprised that figure is so low, such is his threat.

He has an air of versatility too, his attributes suit not only an out and out centre forward, but also one of a front three, either side of a target man. If pushed, he could probably even play on the wing, although you'd be foolish to take this man too far away from the eighteen yard box.

He scores every 156 minutes, which is a goal every two games. That is a benchmark ratio, he's the mythical '20-goal a season' striker that every football fan wants his side to sign. The staggering thing in, his shot conversion is only 21%. Imagine, now he's proven he can cut it as a professional, what a step up in coaching might do for him. Imagine what a better quality of team mate could create for him.

I've seen Mo Eisa twice this season, both times he terrorised the opposition and always looked on the cusp of pulling a rabbit out of the hat. He's made the step up once, now he is primed to do it again. QPR should let Cheltenham go and get Nico Muir, they should be focusing their attention  on the livewire striker in League Two who has 'new Jamie Vardy' written all over him.
