Thomas Christiansen was appointed at Leeds despite many being unaware of him in the footballing world, and he was sacked after less than a year.

The Dane took over ahead of the 2017/18 season, tasked with leading Leeds back to the Premier League after long wait.

He struggled, though, despite a good start, being replaced with Paul Heckingbottom, who also struggled.

His signings were questionable, which was one of the biggest problems.

In truth, he did make some excellent acquisitions such as Samu Saiz and Ezgjan Alioski, but on the whole, he wasted a lot of money.

Here, we look at two of his worst.

Do you agree, or can you think of a worse buy he made? Let us know in the comments section below.

Laurens De Bock

Lauren’s De Bock may still be on the books of Leeds, but he will not make another first team appearance.

He arrived with a big reputation, but played just seven games before losing his starting place to then 19-year-old Tom Pearce.

Felix Wiedwald

Felix Wiedwald.

Felix Wiedwald was another to arrive at Leeds with a big reputation, joining as an experienced goalkeeper from Werder Bremen.

It wasn’t to be for Wiedwald, who joined Eintracht Frankfurt back in Germany just a year later after a poor stint at Leeds.

Letting Rob Green leave because of him was a huge mistake.
