Things were looking up for Wolverhampton Wanderers when they became a hell of a lot richer last summer, after a takeover, but this season has been very mediocre to say the least.

The Golden Boys finished 15th in an extremely average season that may have been what their new owners, Fosun group, needed, to test the waters of the English game and to see what works and what doesn't.

The Chinese investors started the season with Walter Zenga in charge, a gamble that did not pay off, and look set to potentially lose Paul Lambert this summer, who is unhappy at his lack of control over transfers.

The reset button may need to be pushed again for the club, and a new manager will be tasked to work along side Jorge Mendes, the mastermind behind Wolves' transfer regime, to take the squad to the Premier League.

Here are TWO shrewd signings Wolves should look to secure this summer to seriously enhance the current squad.....

Greg Cunningham

Wolves have mainly used right-footed Matt Doherty at left back this season, and while the Ireland international has done a fine job, he would probably be more suited to a right back role.

Whoever is managing Wolves this summer should look to sign Greg Cunningham, possibly the Championship's most underrated player.

He has starred in this Preston side that has managed to secure their status as a very decent Championship side this season, and would be an extremely strong addition.

Lasse Vibe

The Danish forward's form towards the second half of the season has been reminiscent of Scott Hogan's towards the second half of last season - and Wolves should strike before others become interested.

We know that the club has financial power and could probably match any fee Brentford demand.

Wolves need goals in their side and Vibe netted seven of them in them in the final 10 Championship games.

He would be a very impressive addition to their squad.
