Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United will be looking to defend their unbeaten record in the Championship tonight against Preston North End, the only side to have beaten the Whites across all competitions this season.

Leeds were beaten 2-0 by Preston in the League Cup, but in the Championship they head into this evening’s clash at Elland Road unbeaten.

The Whites have 15 points to their name, with their form a stark contrast to Preston’s form, with Alex Neil’s side currently sitting amongst the bottom four of the Championship table.

Neil’s side have just five points to their name and haven’t made the start many expected them to this season.

Preston are still a good outfit though and will offer Leeds a stern test, just as they did in the League Cup.

Here at FLW, we take a look ahead to tonight’s contest, identifying TWO Preston weaknesses that Leeds could exploit…

Pearson is suspended tonight, with the influential midfielder a big miss for Preston.

The midfielder is Preston’s best player, and his absence in central midfield could leave Samu Saiz with plenty of space.

Saiz will carry a lot of Leeds’ threat and attacking the area where Pearson would usually sit could be where Bielsa’s side get some success.

Preston have conceded 12 goals this season, including three against a struggling Reading side on Saturday.

Leeds are one of the Championship’s most fluid attacking sides, and although they are missing key personnel, they could get some joy against Preston’s defensive unit.

It isn’t the type of Alex Neil side we are used to.
