Stoke City have enjoyed a very productive summer with Gary Rowett bringing in several quality players to the club.

The likes of Tom Ince, Benik Afobe and Oghenekaro Etebo have all joined the Potters, giving them a squad that many in the Championship will be envious of.

However, their opening game against Leeds United did not go to plan at all, with the Whites winning 3-1.

Obviously, it's only one game, but the manner of the performance may have concerned Rowett and convinced him that he needs to go back into the market.

The Potters looked weak in key areas and the former Derby boss may want to bring more depth to his squad ahead of what will be a very long season.

Here we look at two deals the Staffordshire club should look to conclude before the 5pm deadline tomorrow...

The Bournemouth man is a player that has been linked with Stoke and he would add a lot to the Stoke midfield.

Whilst they are already strong in that area, Arter will bring a real energy, he knows the division and has won promotion before.

That experience could be vital and he would establish himself as a key player in the coming months, particularly if Badou Ndiaye leaves.

Stoke were very poor in the final third on Sunday, with Benik Afobe looking very isolated throughout.

Whether the former Wolves man can play as a lone striker remains to be seen, but if he can't then Peter Crouch could come in.

However, at his age he may not be able to play for 90 minutes each week, so Rowett should move for Vokes. He is a good target man and could be available with Burnley signing Matej Vydra and looking at Jay Rodriguez.
