Barnsley are only out of the relegation zone on goal difference after an awful run of one win in 12 games, with new manager Jose Morais also struggling to make a positive impact.

The Portuguese boss took over in mid-February and has only managed to register one win in seven games with fans concerned at the alarming form.

A comfortable 2-0 defeat to Millwall gave Birmingham City the chance to move level on points with the Tykes, an opportunity that they took.

However, it was the manner of the performance against the Lions that angered fans and they will want to see a response against Bristol City tomorrow.

Given the recent run of form, Morais will be very tempted to make significant changes tomorrow and here we look at two players who could be dropped for the visit of the Robins...

Morais is seemingly a big fan of the midfielder, regularly playing him since taking over but Gardner hasn't repaid that faith with his performances.

The Tykes were particularly weak in the midfield last time out against Millwall and whilst the ex-Aston Villa man was not solely to blame, there's no doubt he could've done more.

Whether Morais sticks with his 4-3-3 formation or tries something different, Gardner could be on the bench tomorrow.

The Reds have been too reliant on Oli McBurnie in front of goal in recent weeks, with others failing to step up around him.

One of those to have struggled is Thiam, who has just one goal to his name in the league all season.

In such a key position in the final third that just isn't good enough and Morais surely has to consider a different approach with the forward missing out.
